- Automatically through the Services, including from your device and through cookies and similar technologies.
- From service providers we engage to implement technologies or collect or process information on our behalf.
- From partners or other third parties.
How we use your personal information
- Providing, personalising and improving the Services. We use information to perform our contract with you, process payments and orders, remember your preferences and items of interest, send account notifications, handle purchases, returns, exchanges and other transactions, create and manage your account, arrange delivery, facilitate returns and exchanges, enable reviews and personalise your shopping experience, including product recommendations. We may also use information to tailor and improve the Services.
- Marketing and advertising. We use information to send marketing, advertising and promotional communications by email, text message or post, and to display advertisements on the Services or other websites, including based on products you viewed or added to your basket and other activity.
- Security and fraud prevention. We use information to authenticate your account, provide secure shopping and payment experiences, detect, investigate or respond to fraudulent, unlawful, unsafe or malicious activity, protect public safety and secure the Services. If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential. Do not share your username, password or other access details.
- Communicating with you. We use information to provide customer support, respond to enquiries, deliver effective services and maintain our business relationship with you.
- Legal reasons. We use information to comply with applicable law and valid legal processes, including requests from law enforcement or government bodies, investigate or participate in civil discovery, potential or ongoing disputes or other proceedings, enforce our policies or terms and investigate potential violations.
How we disclose personal information
In certain circumstances, we may disclose personal information to third parties for legitimate purposes consistent with this policy:
- To Shopify, service providers and other parties working on our behalf, such as IT support, payment processing, data analytics, customer support, cloud storage, fulfilment and delivery providers.
- To business and marketing partners to provide marketing services and advertisements. For example, we use Shopify to support personalised advertising through third-party services based on activity across merchants and websites. Partners use information according to their own privacy notices. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us not to share information for targeted advertising based on activity across different merchants and websites.
- When you direct us, request or otherwise consent to disclosure, including for delivery or through social media widgets or login integrations.
- To affiliates or within our corporate group.
- In connection with a business transaction such as a merger or bankruptcy; to comply with legal obligations, including valid subpoenas, warrants or similar requests; to enforce terms or policies; and to protect or defend the Services, our rights or the rights of users or others.
Our relationship with Shopify
The Services are hosted by Shopify, which collects and processes personal information about your access to and use of the Services to provide and improve them. Information you submit is transmitted to and shared with Shopify and third parties, which may be located outside your country of residence. We also use certain enhanced Shopify features that incorporate information from your interactions with our shop, other merchants and Shopify to protect, develop and improve our business. To provide these features, Shopify may use information collected from those interactions. In those circumstances, Shopify is responsible for processing that information, including responding to rights requests relating to its use. See Shopify’s Consumer Privacy Policy for details. Depending on where you live, you can exercise certain rights through Shopify’s Privacy Portal.
Third-party websites and links
The Services may link to websites or platforms operated by third parties. If you follow a link to a service we do not control, review its privacy, security and other terms. We do not guarantee and are not responsible for those websites’ privacy or security practices, or the accuracy, completeness or reliability of their information. Information shared in public or semi-public spaces, including third-party social media platforms, may be visible to other users without restrictions on its use by us or others. A link does not itself imply endorsement of a platform, its content, owners or operators, unless we say otherwise.
Children’s information
The Services are not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the age of majority in their jurisdiction. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided information may contact us to request deletion. As of this policy’s effective date, we do not have actual knowledge that we “share” or “sell”, as those terms are defined by applicable law, personal information relating to anyone under 16.
Security and retention
No security measure is perfect or impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Information sent to us may not be secure in transit; please do not use insecure channels to send sensitive or confidential information. Retention periods depend on factors such as whether information is needed to maintain your account, provide the Services, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes or enforce contracts or policies.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights. They are not absolute, may apply only in certain circumstances and may be subject to lawful exceptions:
- Access: request access to the personal information we hold about you.
- Deletion: request deletion of your personal information.
- Correction: request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Portability: request a copy of your information and, in certain circumstances, its transfer to another party.
- Communication preferences: unsubscribe from promotional emails using the unsubscribe link. We may continue sending non-promotional messages about your account or orders.
If you live in the United Kingdom or European Economic Area, you may also have rights, subject to local exceptions and limitations, to object to or restrict certain processing and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before consent was withdrawn.
You can exercise rights through the relevant controls in the Services or by contacting us below. For information about Shopify’s processing and rights, visit Shopify’s Privacy Portal. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a right. Where permitted or required, we may need to verify your identity. You may be able to authorise an agent to act for you; we may require evidence of that authorisation and ask you to verify your identity directly. We respond within the periods required by applicable law.
Complaints
Contact us if you have concerns about our handling of personal information. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to appeal a decision or complain to your local data protection authority. EEA supervisory authorities are listed by the European Data Protection Board.
International transfers
We may transfer, store and process information outside your country of residence. Where information is transferred outside the EEA or United Kingdom, we rely on recognised transfer mechanisms, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent UK mechanism, unless the destination has been recognised as providing adequate protection.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or for operational, legal or regulatory reasons. We will publish the revised policy here, update the “Last updated” date and provide any notice required by applicable law.
